Billie Jo Jones, Songs Without the Title in the Chorus, and Country Music News
Get ready for an exclusive behind-the-scenes conversation with rising country star Billie Jo Jones as she joins Jay Franze and co-host Tiffany Mason for a candid discussion about her musical journey and exciting upcoming projects.
The Texas-born artist shares breaking news about her sophomore album "Turquoise and Silver," set to release this October. "I really think this album beats the last album, and I didn't think I was going to be able to say that," Jones confesses with genuine excitement. Unlike her debut where she wrote just two of ten songs, Jones proudly reveals she's written or co-written ten of the twelve tracks on this new project, showcasing her growth as a songwriter and artist.
Jones offers fascinating insights into her collaborative process, discussing partnerships with established writers like Bobby E Boyd (who penned "God Bless the Broken Road" for Rascal Flatts) and her special writing chemistry with manager Lin Snow. "We write really well together," she explains, describing how they can craft entire songs even while in different states. The conversation delves into the vulnerability required for effective co-writing and how Jones draws from personal experiences to create authentic music that resonates with listeners.
The interview takes an exciting turn when Jones announces her participation as one of twelve finalists on "The Road" – a new music competition show premiering October 19th on CBS and Paramount Plus. Produced by Taylor Sheridan and Blake Shelton, the series follows artists traveling on a tour bus from venue to venue, with audiences voting for their favorites. Jones describes the life-changing experience of opening for Keith Urban and how this show differs from her previous appearances on American Idol, The Voice, and Real Country.
Whether you're a longtime fan or just discovering her music, this episode offers a heartfelt glimpse into the creative mind of an artist on the rise.

So if you would like to join in, comment or fire off any questions, please head over to jayfranze. com. All right, before we get started, let me just tell you what the question of the day is. Question of the day what are songs that the name of the day? What are songs that the name of the song does not appear in the chorus? What are songs that the name of the song does not appear in the chorus? If you would like to join our reindeer games, go ahead and put your answers in the comments section. All right, tonight we have a very special guest. I said it once, I will say it again we have a very special guest. We have a country music recording artist hailing from the great state of Texas. We have Billie Jo Jones. Miss Billie Jo, thank you for joining us.
Billie Jo Jones:Hi, thanks for having me.
Jay Franze:It is our pleasure. I know we only have you for a limited amount of time tonight, so why don't we just jump in and tell us what's this new music you've got coming out?
Billie Jo Jones:Oh gosh, there is so much going on right now, but I think one of the biggest things is I am releasing. My second ever country album is coming out this fall. I don't have an exact date just yet, but I know it's in October and the name of the album is called Turquoise and Silver, and we actually have been working on the album cover today and it is awesome. Some girls don't cry.
Billie Jo Jones:Album cover was awesome, but I think this one beats it and I didn't think we could beat that album cover, so I'm excited for everyone to see it.
Jay Franze:You mentioned, it's your second album and that's the sophomore release and there's always a lot of pressure on the sophomore release, so have you felt any of that pressure?
Billie Jo Jones:I have felt that pressure, but it's gosh, I don't know. Like my first album that we put out last year, I'd actually written two of the 10 songs on the album, and so I was determined. For the next album I wanted to write a whole lot more, and really I mean, my goal is just always write a better song than I did the day before. That's kind of my mentality of everything. And then it turns out that I've actually written or co-written on 10 of the 12 songs for this next album, and I am super excited for it. I really think that this album beats the last album, and I didn't think that I was going to be able to say that because I really, really loved my first album. I still love it, but this next album is complete fire and I cannot wait for everyone to hear the songs.
Tiffany Mason:Why was it important for you to write more on this album?
Billie Jo Jones:It's really a personal goal for me because I've I mean, obviously I can sing, I can perform, but I always wanted to be a writer. And I mean growing up with my. I can perform, but I always wanted to be a writer. And I mean growing up with my grandparents, I would write letters to them, you know, because that's how I expressed my feelings was I would write them a letter instead of talking to them face to face. That's just kind of how I am, and so I've kind of struggled with writing. I didn't even start writing until I was probably 23 years old, and so it was just a personal goal for me that I just really wanted to write more on this next album. And we have so many incredible co-writers for this album as well that I got to write with, and so it's really really just a personal goal, yeah.
Jay Franze:Give us some example of the writers.
Billie Jo Jones:So we've got. Tammy Marler is actually a longtime friend of mine, that you know. I've probably known her since I was 12 years old in Emory Texas. Tammy Marler is actually a longtime friend of mine, that you know. I've probably known her since I was 12 years old in Emory Texas. Tammy Marler is on there. Kelly Schoenfeld is on there, erin Weatherholt. Another one is Bobby E Boyd, who wrote God Bless the Broken Road for Rascal Flatts, and then a friend of mine that has become one of my really good friends. Her name is Morgan Lee Powers. She and I co-wrote a couple of songs on there. And then we also have Trani Anderson. So I'm so, so, so excited for this album. Lin Snow is also a writer on every single song, so obviously I can't forget him. He is my manager and label owner of Get your Records.
Jay Franze:What's it like writing with him.
Billie Jo Jones:Oh gosh, it is awesome.
Billie Jo Jones:We like, even from the beginning, we've just we've always been able to write like really well together.
Billie Jo Jones:I mean, obviously you kind of got to get comfortable and you know, get to know the other person and you know sitting, we can either be sitting together in the same room you know he has a guitar or I have a guitar, or whatever or we have like the notes pulled up on our phones we're not even in the same state and you know he can start a song on the notes and send it over to me to share the note with me, and we'll just write the words like on the paper, not even hear the music, and we can write an entire song, which is really special because there's not a whole lot of people, you know, that can, that can do that sometimes.
Billie Jo Jones:So but yeah, we write really really well together and we already have seven songs ready for the next album that we're going to be doing. So there's I mean, there's so much music going on right now we had to cut this album down to 12 songs. We're like, well, let's just put all these other ones on the next album. So we've already got the third album, you know, underway.
Tiffany Mason:How vulnerable do you feel like you need to get with the other person when you're co-writing?
Billie Jo Jones:very. I mean it's, it's, it's one of those I don't know, I don't know how to explain it, except with I mean anyone that I write with. You have to be comfortable enough. You know with them in order for me.
Billie Jo Jones:I think this is just my opinion. It may not be like this for everyone, but my opinion you have to let that person in and kind of see your vulnerable side of you, because if not, I've been in rooms with a couple of writers where it just didn't work, like we didn't mesh, I don't know. It was just like there was nothing wrong with them, there's nothing wrong with me. It was just one of those moments where we just we just didn't click, I guess, if that makes sense, and so sometimes that just happens. But for the most part, I think it's super important to be vulnerable, share personal experiences, because that's where my writing comes from, is from personal experiences or me knowing people that have been in the situation that I'm writing about. Sometimes I can write like a fantasy song, but for the most part I think every single one of my songs is real life. I've lived it or experienced it in some way or another.
Tiffany Mason:Well, I know you said that that's how you used to communicate with your grandparents, so I would think that you are a person who expresses yourself through the music, which means you have to get pretty vulnerable. And then you saying that you've become a really good friend with one of your co-writers. How often do you guys get down rabbit holes and forget to keep working? Or are you guys really good at like staying focused and like, no, okay, we got to write this song.
Billie Jo Jones:I would have to say that we so myself and Morgan Lee Powers, we we have fun, but like we're still like we're still writing, like we're still, you know, coming up or saying crazy things and we're like, oh my gosh, you said that, but we can put this here in this song, you know, like we're still working, I guess, if that makes sense, we don't really get distracted or goof off or you know whatever. And we were even writing at her aunt's place and she had a beautiful pool, you know, and like we pretty much stay focused and you know, some of these songs have been written in 20 or 30 minutes and some of them took, you know, a few days to kind of perfect.
Jay Franze:So I know you mentioned that you sometimes just grab a guitar, but do you always start with the lyric and the story first?
Billie Jo Jones:For the most part I most of my songs I start with the lyrics.
Billie Jo Jones:Sometimes I start with the melody Like I'll just be picking on the guitar and I'm like, oh I can, you know, I start humming and then I start putting words to whatever I'm humming.
Billie Jo Jones:But for the most part I'm kind of more of a I don't know lyrics just always kind of come first, I guess, or I'll be, you know, driving down the road and you know it'll just pop in my head and I'll start writing it down and then I go figure out the melodies later. Or I tell Lynn and he's a lot better at you know putting some of the melodies with the words that I have, or coming up with new melodies, because we definitely don't want any of our songs to sound the same, like that would be terrible, like no one wants to listen to an entire album that sounds the exact same. So we do really well with you know coming up with different melodies and different things. And sometimes I take what he has and like, oh well, let me do this, I can make this better, you know, and I can make you know go up with the higher notes or the lower or whatever. So it really just kind of depends on the song and what we're writing.
Jay Franze:See that, Tiffany? That's why I stopped writing songs. I found a formula, I stuck to it.
Tiffany Mason:I have to imagine that's kind of tricky though, like you do kind of find a sweet spot or what's kind of fun, and then you're like OK, crap, how do we make it different, how do we shake it up, how do we make a different tempo or use different instruments?
Billie Jo Jones:You know I've written a few songs by myself, but I definitely am a firm believer that I am meant to co-write. I love co-writing. I love even taking what someone else has already done the majority of, and I come in there and kind of like fix things or move things or switch this to this way or whatever. I like fixing things like that as well. But I love co-writing because it keeps me on my toes and keeps it fresh and we always come up with something new and different every time we sit down.
Jay Franze:All right. Well, the last time you were here, you were telling us about a little project you had going on, but you couldn't share the title or what it was going to be. Now you can share.
Billie Jo Jones:I can finally so please share.
Billie Jo Jones:It was so hard. It was so hard to keep this dang secret, but I am one of the 12 finalists on the new TV show that is coming to CBS and Paramount Plus October 19th. It's called the Road, and I'm one of the 12 finalists on there, and so I got to go and compete against 11 other artists and we went open for Keith Urban, which was freaking awesome. So, yeah, see, everyone needs to tune in to CBS and Paramount Plus October 19th. This show was produced by Taylor Sheridan and Blake Shelton, and you know everything that Taylor touches like it turns to gold. So I expect nothing less for this show. And you know not to knock the other TV shows, but this one is completely different than anything that's out there and it's just going to be awesome. It's going to be awesome.
Tiffany Mason:It sounds like such a fun concept.
Jay Franze:We can share it here. First, you won right.
Billie Jo Jones:I cannot say that. I cannot say that you will have to watch the show.
Jay Franze:I mean it took a while, but you pulled it out at the end, right?
Billie Jo Jones:I mean, you just have to watch the show and find out. That's all I can say. I'm under strict NDA contract.
Jay Franze:So what you're saying is you can't tell us you won, but that wink is that what that meant?
Billie Jo Jones:I cannot say anything. I cannot say anything.
Jay Franze:Tell us a piece of the show that you can tell us what was it like traveling with these people?
Billie Jo Jones:Oh, it was awesome. I can't say a whole lot about it, except for it is a singing. It's a singing competition, but we, you know, got to go on the road and travel on this tour bus from place to place and the crowd voted each night that we performed. The crowd is the one who actually voted to see who got to stay in the competition, to keep going and opening for Keith throughout the journey. So it's really really cool. It's going to be really fun to watch. It's not one of those super drama-filled crazy messes that go on. I can't stand. I shouldn't say this, but I'm not big on reality TV shows, if that makes sense, but yet I'm on one, so I guess it's just a thing.
Tiffany Mason:You're on a music competition show, I'm on a music competition show that's real.
Billie Jo Jones:It's real life. We are real musicians that have been working our tails off. I mean me personally. I've been playing in my band for over 10 years and to be able to be given the spotlight and to be given this opportunity is life changing and incredible, and I'm so honored to be part of the show, no matter what happens.
Jay Franze:Do you have 15 new friends?
Billie Jo Jones:Oh, yeah, I mean, everyone on the show is amazing, and there's one in particular that I probably can't share just yet, but I got close to one of the girls on the show and so they'll you'll see that at some point. But but yeah, everyone was super nice. We were all cheering for each other. I mean it, it was a competition, but it really didn't feel like. It didn't feel like a competition, if that makes sense, because we were all, you know, cheering each other on, encouraging each other or helping each other up, you know, after a bad time or you know, whatever you, it's just one of those things that everyone was just great and I, you know, thoroughly enjoyed being a part of that show.
Jay Franze:What did you learn from this exercise here?
Billie Jo Jones:Oh gosh, I mean, I learned so much and there's just, honestly, being in the presence of Keith Urban number one getting to know him, and not only just getting to know him, but he is one heck of a performer and there's not very many people that I would go pay a lot of money to, like stand in the front row to watch perform or sing or whatever, because I'm just picky or number one, I don't like crowds, you know, like one of those things. But he is someone that I, if I had you know all the money in the world, I would pay, however much it costs, to go stand front row right in front of him and watch him perform, because he is truly incredible, he is an artist and he's an entertainer and he does it very, very well and I know all of us learned, all of us learned so much from him, so that was awesome.
Tiffany Mason:I thought you said Elvis, but you said all of us.
Billie Jo Jones:All of us Elvis. I love Elvis too.
Tiffany Mason:I was like is that one of the contestants? Did she just accidentally say one of the names? I?
Jay Franze:always left the building.
Tiffany Mason:No, no, I didn't. That's funny. Billy joe, how did this um compare to your other tv singing show experiences?
Billie Jo Jones:oh gosh, it's hard because I'm not gonna say names one of the tv shows that I was on. I really did not care for the other one, I actually really liked it. It was. It was really cool. Um, I learned a lot from there. Then there was another one that I was on. It was really cool. They treated you like royalty when you were on the show. But this one and I'm not just saying it just because I'm like I have to like I don't have to say this, but like this one hands down.
Billie Jo Jones:If anyone, if I was ever to tell anyone to go and try to be a part of anything, this TV show, I'm telling you, is going to be around for a very long time. I would encourage anyone that is, you know, truly an artist, like not if you've, if you're just now starting out singing and you're just now starting to play your first few gigs or something. No, I don't really think that this show is for you, because you've got to be ready, you've got to be on your A game, you've got to have been able, you've got to have been, you know, doing this for a long time. You've got to have the experience, because what you're about to do is crazy. It's a little crazy some of the stuff that we did. So that's what I was going to ask is do you feel like it gave you know this one you're gone for however long? You know, a few weeks at a time, and, and and normal touring musicians like Keith Urban or Lainey Wilson. They go out for six weeks and come home for a couple of weeks and go out.
Billie Jo Jones:You know that I don't do that. I've never done that. I've never been away from my kids for that long. You know stuff like that. So it was. It's one of those. It truly is an eyeopening experience and it really does show you like are you ready for this? Can you handle this? Do you have what it takes? I think. And so it's. It's incredible. It's a really awesome experience.
Jay Franze:So how proud are your kids?
Billie Jo Jones:They're so proud, they, uh, they're excited. I think they're also a little nervous because they don't know what pictures or videos I, you know, have sent in, you know, for my storytelling of, you know, showing them my kids and stuff. So they're all like oh, my gosh, mom, what picture did you use? Like, do I look terrible? You know, because my oldest is 15 and my youngest is eight and I have four kiddos, and so they're all. I think they're all a little nervous on what's going on and what embarrassing thing am I going to say or do? There's probably some of those moments that'll be coming out to you.
Jay Franze:Just because you mentioned the other shows, can you tell us the title of those shows?
Billie Jo Jones:I can. I won't tell you which one is which, but I was on a TV show called Real Country with Shania Twain, jake Owen and Travis Tritt. I was on American Idol and then I was on the Voice, so this one is definitely like you know, the road is hands down. I think it's going to be a household name for many years.
Jay Franze:So I think the difference between those shows is that the ones you were on previously are for people to be discovered in the first place, where this one is for seasoned musicians who already know how to perform and travel.
Billie Jo Jones:That's a good way to put it. I was trying to like say that and like couldn't. I don't know, my brain wasn't working.
Jay Franze:Well, you keep saying the things you can't say, can't say, can't say, which just means you want to come back on the show again.
Billie Jo Jones:I do, I would love to. I always love being on your show. I was so sad when we had to reschedule last time. Oh, I love having you and it was so much fun getting to meet your daughter at CMA Fest. That was absolutely precious. Well, thank you. So you have to tell her that I said hi.
Jay Franze:My daughter. I'm glad you brought that up, because I would have forgot to tell you my daughter is heavily into sign language, and she does sign language cover tunes and she did one for one of your songs, so I wanted her to.
Billie Jo Jones:She's not feeling well today, but I wanted to have her show it to you today. Yeah, but tell her to show me or send a video. You have my number, so so send me a video of her or something, or maybe we can facetime or something and she can show me, because I would love to see it. That's awesome. All right, my friend.
Jay Franze:Well, I know we have to let or something and she can show me because I would love to see it. That's awesome. All right, my friend. Well, I know we have to let you go, but I can't thank you enough for joining us tonight and sharing what you have shared with us, and we will get you back here to share the rest.
Billie Jo Jones:Well, thank you so much for having me. I appreciate it y'all so good to see you.
Tiffany Mason:So nice to meet you back and talk about your album and your whole experience once we know you did in fact win, so it's going to be great.
Jay Franze:Well, thank y'all so much it needs to be shared here first, even if it's like 30 minutes before the last episode airs. Just saying.
Billie Jo Jones:We'll make it happen. We'll make something happen.
Jay Franze:All right, my friend, you have a good night.
Billie Jo Jones:Bye, thank you, bye now.
Jay Franze:Well, there you go miss tiffany, miss billy, joe jones couldn't be any more fabulous.
Tiffany Mason:She's awesome, isn't?
Jay Franze:she, yeah, was that the one yeah artist that you did not get to meet at cma?
Tiffany Mason:I did not.
Jay Franze:She was the first one that my daughter and I we rushed into town to see her to catch her before she left, but it was very cool. It was good to see her, to catch her before she left. But it was very cool. It was good to see her. Then it was good to have her back on the show.
Tiffany Mason:I agree, pretty cool. I'm anxious to see this new television show, to see what it's like I mean, I feel like we broke that news first here that the Road was going to be recorded.
Jay Franze:We did talk about it months ago. Yeah, yeah, but it's nice to have somebody from the show come on it's nice it will be nice if you know what we were saying is actually true and she does actually win.
Tiffany Mason:She probably does, of course. Of course She'll show it Nice. Well, I thought it might be nice to address the elephant in the room.
Jay Franze:My wife here. Sorry, babe, sorry if you're listening, just a joke.
Tiffany Mason:But talking about Brandon Blackstock passing away on August 7th, that was so sad to see Kelly mourning the loss of her ex-husband and now talking about Raymond McIntyre that is her stepson, her oldest son, and said they will miss him dearly. Reba skipped recent tapings of the Voice with insiders calling this the biggest heartbreak of her life, which is so sad. Biggest heartbreak, I'm sure, for Kelly Clarkson. And just like my pastor always says, there's no hurt like kid hurt and I can't imagine what that feels like. To comfort those kids are little, so to comfort them.
Tiffany Mason:You know, losing their dad is terrible. The next story is kind of combined with it. So just hold on and then we're going to go into happy times. Okay, so I planned this on purpose, okay, okay. So then Dolly Parton, speaking with entertainment tonight, she shared heartfelt thoughts with both Reba and Kelly Clarkson following Brandon's death. She said cherish memories, honor the legacy and draw from their energy, as she is still processing her own sorrow after losing her husband earlier this year and I think last week we even talked about Kelly Clarkson singing I Will Always Love you.
Jay Franze:Yeah, yeah, she sang that at her residency.
Tiffany Mason:She's been in the news a lot with us as far as her residency in Vegas and then her doing that cover and then now Brandon passing, so maybe next week we'll give it a break. No, if she can keep herself out of the news, you're welcome here at all times, kelly.
Jay Franze:SheaFranzycom join us. I heard somebody talking about her on the news the passing of her ex and everything. And they were saying how? You know, she didn't even like him, didn't even get along with him, so just go ahead and get over it.
Tiffany Mason:It's like, really, that's the approach you want to take. No, I don't think it's that easy. Well, it's not. I think once somebody passes, like for whatever reason, you know, it's like all the positive things come rushing back to you. You know, you don't remember the arguments. You remember, you know all the good times, the good anniversaries, when you had your children, when you got married. You know all those things. I think is what comes rushing back to you. And I thought it was really sweet to um. You know we gotta throw out jelly rolls name, because a week without jelly roll, I don't know how we do it.
Tiffany Mason:This was not a technical collaboration, but he said that she sang somebody save me when he, yeah, when she, when he didn't have words for himself and so he sang that for her, um, in her time of need. So just kind of cool that you get to see, I guess, the artists as real people from time to time. You know, you get little glimpses into who they really are. So pretty cool, okay. Well, I said dolly was on entertainment tonight, but two days prior, on the 5th, she was officially recognized as Guinness World Records icon. So we have talked about her. We knew she should have been number one, her or Ripa Okay, and this just proves it even more. She holds 11 titles, including most studio albums by a female artist, most Grammy nominations and only country artists with top 20 hits across seven decades. At 79, her humility shines as bright as her legacy and she will always be like this bright, shiny, rhinestone-y, diamond-y, sparkly, fiery yeah.
Tiffany Mason:Tell me the top three songs from Dolly, top three I Will Always Love you, or I Will Always Love you, and, yeah, I Will Always Love you. A Kenny Rogers and a Dolly Parton song, oh, You're failing the exercise. I know Something about roses and 9 to 5.
Jay Franze:I was waiting for Jolene.
Tiffany Mason:Damn it. That's what the roses one was.
Jay Franze:Is that what it was? I don't know if you're aware of this, but she wrote Jolene and I will always love you on the same day.
Tiffany Mason:How do you do that? See, this is why we need to talk to the people who made that list. You write two blockbusters in one day? Yeah, come on.
Jay Franze:How do you not be number one? That's just a Thursday.
Tiffany Mason:Whatever that's just a Thursday. Whatever it's just a Tuesday.
Jay Franze:You should see the rest of the week, but yeah, she should be more productive. I just always thought that was amazing.
Tiffany Mason:Wow. Well, we all know she's amazing, but that just proves it even more. Okay, well, this one is not as exciting, or maybe it's riveting. Carly Pierce.
Jay Franze:Carly.
Tiffany Mason:Pierce. She was opening a bottle of ranch dressing after a concert in New Jersey of course, new Jersey. The bottle shattered, it sliced her thumb badly enough that on-site paramedics insisted she get stitches and went by ambulance to the hospital, insisted she get stitches and went by ambulance to the hospital. No way in hell is anybody convincing me to get in an ambulance when my thumb needs to be stitched. She later shared the mishap on tic-tac with you in tic-tac tic-tac with humor and reminded fans to be careful. Despite managing her serious heart condition, she remains scheduled to perform soon.
Jay Franze:You want to tie her into Dolly too.
Tiffany Mason:Why don't you give it a stab?
Jay Franze:Okay, Thank you. Thank you for the opportunity. When she was a teenager, she performed at Dollywood for about I think it was five years. Oh, really yeah she would sing multiple shows a day for five years as a teenager.
Tiffany Mason:So this is now the Dolly Parton show.
Jay Franze:This is the Dolly Parton show. I just thought if you want to keep tying things to Dolly. I'll see what I can do on the next one.
Tiffany Mason:I'm going to challenge you.
Jay Franze:I'm going to accept it.
Tiffany Mason:You guys heard it here. Jay is coming up with more dolly facts for us next week. Okay, kathy matea, the 1980s country star, was stunned when legend charlie mccoy invited her on stage to join the grand old opry after decades of his hits. Like walking away a winner, she accepted with visible emotion. Her formal induction is is set for October 11th in Nashville. Way to go, kathy Matea.
Jay Franze:Kathy Matea. You know how I like female-fronted rock bands.
Tiffany Mason:Yes.
Jay Franze:She was once offered an opportunity to be the female front of a rock band. She turned it down to be a country artist. I would have liked to have seen what she would have done.
Tiffany Mason:I bet you would.
Jay Franze:Don't get me started.
Tiffany Mason:Speaking of a female-fronted rock band. The acclaimed producer Dave Cobb, famed for his country Americana work, teamed up with hard rock band Hailstorm to create their new album everest, recorded in a house in savannah rather than his usual music row studio, pushing the band into fresh creative zones. What we were just talking about with billy joe jones and actually I know I'm gonna let the cat out of the bag early for the crew members, but we did get to talk to Chris Rasmus and he talked about getting out of his comfort zone in that interview and also fresh creative zones for him.
Jay Franze:Chris, you're Rasmus.
Tiffany Mason:That's what I said.
Jay Franze:Yeah, no, I just wanted to make it clear the accent. Sometimes, you know, it doesn't come through clear.
Tiffany Mason:My microphone yeah.
Jay Franze:Dave Cobb, his studio. You know traditional Nashville style stuff. He's typically producing country artists, but with Hailstorm he did push them out of their comfort zone, not only by taking his practice out of the studio and into a home, making it, in my opinion, more comfortable, but he also pushed the band out of their comfort zone and he took the songs that they came to the session with and tossed them aside and said he wanted to write from scratch.
Jay Franze:So he helped them get through their songs from scratch and, as they would perform and work on the songs, he would record them. So what you're hearing is the actual recordings of their writing. They didn't record the demo and then say, okay, now let's go polish it and re-record it. They just whatever they laid down.
Tiffany Mason:He kept now that song that we told the crew members about Dark Thoughts is that on Everest.
Jay Franze:Yes. That was the first single.
Tiffany Mason:Okay, cool.
Jay Franze:And it's a perfect example of, in my opinion, of experimentation, because if you listen to the way the song starts, it has a very slow start to it, but when it kicks in it kicks in. If you're used to Hillstorm's typical music, this one takes a little bit to get used to, but once it kicks in and everything you know. It's a great song.
Tiffany Mason:Yeah, you said you don't know Dave Cobb really well. I was going to ask is he more of a creative producer? It seems like it or is he more of a technical producer?
Jay Franze:My understanding. I've never worked with him, but my understanding is he's very on the creative side.
Tiffany Mason:Mm-hmm, it would seem so Very cool. Well, we have Kane Brown in the news. He, the new ABC procedural 911 Nashville, will premiere October 9th and it features Kane Brown playing a heroic character in a concert scene. Weird that we'd see him in a concert scene. The cast includes Leigh-Anne Rimes and other promising drama and musical flair.
Tiffany Mason:I am really addicted to that Backseat Driver song. Like I want to hate it, but you know, there's just some songs for some reason. I maybe, maybe I'm just, I'll just speak for myself. There's some songs I'm like I don't want to like this song but I do love it so much because I can just see her in the back seat. She's got her little orange juice and she got her little feet dangling out of her car seat and she's just looking out and she's just popcorn. I call them popcorn thoughts when you just like kind of one thought after another and you say them out loud but it feels to me like she's having these little popcorn thoughts and how cute.
Tiffany Mason:And then kane brown like ever since that song with his wife. I'm like this is a family man and easy on the eyes. My favorite combination is that loation skin I think that's what they call it where it's like black skin mixed with white and the blue eyes and like yeah, so kane brown has been on my list for a while to go see in concert. I would like to go see him. I feel like he just loves his family and I don't know, I just love that. Very attractive on top of his looks. Are you attracted to him, jay?
Jay Franze:you know, I really, I really tried, but I just couldn't get myself to do it.
Tiffany Mason:No, no, okay, well, but.
Jay Franze:Kate, if you want to come on the show, Miss Tiffany would like to talk to you.
Tiffany Mason:I sure would. J-franzycom, I sure would. Okay, bailey Zimmerman is different than you, so his second studio album, his sophomore album, finally released August 8th, after delays due to his mother's illness, which is very sad. It includes collaborations with Luke Combs, diplo and Kid Leroy. Zimmerman is currently on his new New to Country summer tour. Oh my gosh, I'm surprised Jelly Roll's not on there. Where is Jelly Roll on this collaboration list? No collab.
Jay Franze:He's another one. He was discovered on TikTok Not too long ago either.
Tiffany Mason:No Right.
Jay Franze:I mean 2020, during COVID. He was discovered on TikTok and only because he wasn't working I mean he was I'm going to say this and regret it.
Tiffany Mason:It's okay, jay let it out.
Jay Franze:Let it out. He was a pipe layer, so I hope everybody's laughing with me. He was a pipe layer and then at the start of COVID, he, we're not going left with him, not doing it.
Tiffany Mason:But, anyways, he decided to start you know, getting into music. Oh wow, there you go. He was on. We have at Jack's, I guess, jacksonville Beach for people who are not local, for locals at Jack's Beach. He was here last year for Country Fest and did like a free performance.
Jay Franze:He was just at that fest that we had here in town last week.
Tiffany Mason:Oh yeah.
Jay Franze:Voices of America, but you said his sophomore effort that he's putting out. He was pushed to record Nashville-style songs and refused. I want to do what's natural to me and if that's not good, he goes. I'm fine with going back to my old job. Yeah, now that's the voice of a 25 year old. Oh yeah, for sure, because you think this is going to come around again, Guess what Well.
Tiffany Mason:I mean it also makes me think of again our interview with Chrisris where he was saying, you know, he had a contract proposed to him and he was like I'm worth more, you know, and so it kind of feels like bailey zipperman was like I'm gonna make the music I want to make, which I respect so much more than it being about the money.
Jay Franze:Yeah which I get it.
Tiffany Mason:I mean it's a big deal, but it's also a big deal to be authentic to who you are there has to be a balance and that's why we're doing this show, jay, so we can be authentic to who we are well, when they say balance, they don't mean us two on the side of a teeter-totter okay, well, all right.
Tiffany Mason:And last but not least, but shortly before Zach Bryan's San Francisco show, bryan mocked the Kansas City Chiefs over their Super Bowl loss, announcing he'd never perform in Kansas City again. He later softened, expressing affection for nearby Bonner Springs. His behavior continues to fuel debate. Come on, zach, you gotta behave, you gotta play the politics. Actually, maybe he's balanced, he's being authentic. Maybe he just doesn't like the Chiefs. Maybe he doesn't like that Taylor's dating Kelsey and that's a conflict of interest for him.
Jay Franze:Whoa, everybody likes that.
Tiffany Mason:It's true.
Jay Franze:It's so true, team.
Tiffany Mason:Taylor? Are we coming up with a combination of their name, like Bennifer? No what is Taylor, there's no need for that no.
Jay Franze:No, okay, nope, just Team.
Tiffany Mason:Taylor. Nope, okay, team Taylor.
Jay Franze:Travis is on Team Taylor.
Tiffany Mason:True that he's laying pipe? I would hope so.
Jay Franze:Oh, let's move on.
Tiffany Mason:Jay, refresh my memory. What was the question of the?
Jay Franze:day. Oh, I'm glad you mentioned that. What are some songs that do not have the name of the song in the chorus? What are some songs where the title does not appear in the chorus?
Tiffany Mason:and I want to tell you why I suggested this last week oh, dear god, tell me my husband's favorite restaurant, which I hate going to, but every time we go there it never fails. They're having music trivia, I'm like yes and then I go to guess the name of a song which we've established. I know lyrics you're a lyric artist.
Tiffany Mason:Yes, I don't know artists. Sometimes I know the title of the song, but anyways, so it will never fail. One of these songs will come up. I'm like dang it, you know, like I gave it my best stab, but no, it was no dice, because the title is not in the course, and so this happens to me often.
Jay Franze:I didn't give credit last week to Mark. Mark submitted the question for last week and if you would like to submit your questions, please do so. You can send it to Jay at jayfrenzycom or you can DM me on any of the socials, but we would love to ask your questions as well.
Tiffany Mason:Absolutely.
Jay Franze:All right, shall we start.
Tiffany Mason:Do it, do it, jay, do it.
Jay Franze:Let's start with the most important man in country music. Emily says George Strait Amarillo by morning. Now, is that true?
Tiffany Mason:No, because it's Amarillo by morning. Amarillo's on my mind, so we're going to pass on Emily's.
Jay Franze:Mike. Mike says Chris Stapleton Tennessee Whiskey.
Tiffany Mason:Because you're a smooth Tennessee Whiskey.
Jay Franze:All right, moving on. Laura says yeah, ready. Laura says Miranda Lambert, the House that Built Me. I'm afraid to keep reading these at this point.
Tiffany Mason:Me too. Oh, take nothing from a memory, from the house that built me. It's the last line of the lyrics.
Jay Franze:Well, I'll give it to her. It's typically a repetitive line through a chorus, but the last line is still in the chorus, technically.
Tiffany Mason:It's said like three times. Let me interrupt the flow and I'm going to give you mine, which is Green Day. Good Riddance, that is not anywhere in that chorus.
Jay Franze:It's not anywhere in the song. I'm going to let you interrupt only because I didn't offer it to you at the beginning.
Tiffany Mason:Well, I could have waited, but I want to draw a picture of what I was looking for, and another one. When I was in high school, nirvana Smells Like Teen Spirit. I was always like what is the name of this song again? What is the name of this song again? And I think it has tripped me up in the old trivia.
Jay Franze:I'm going to bump it to the top of the list here, but your mother says Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.
Tiffany Mason:Oh good job, mom yes.
Jay Franze:Now that's on here a couple times. So at least, we're getting back on track here, but thank you. Miss Kathy, Thank you for calling me the other day. It was a very nice conversation. Oh my gosh.
Tiffany Mason:How did she get your number? You gave it to her, you reached out to her.
Jay Franze:What are you wearing? What are you wearing, Miss Kathy?
Tiffany Mason:That's a whole other show, Jay.
Jay Franze:Oh, I'm sorry, that's the after hours your mother says she was going to say Nirvana that Tiffany stole my thunder and then she said that I'm welcome, Wow.
Tiffany Mason:You want Jay to steal your thunder Mom.
Jay Franze:Kevin says Brad Paisley Whiskey Lullaby.
Tiffany Mason:I don't know that song.
Jay Franze:So it's one that we can't fight. You're in a fighting mood tonight.
Tiffany Mason:I'm just saying, I am feisty, feisty.
Jay Franze:Now Amy says Vince Gill, do you think it's Amy Grant?
Tiffany Mason:Probably. I think she probably tunes in on the regular amy, if that's truly you, please let us know.
Jay Franze:She says vince gill, go rest high on the mountain oh, that sounds like a hymn the heart of the song is in the message, not the title. Isn't that nifty Mark D. Remember last week we had Frank D that I said might be somebody I knew. Well, frank D has a son named Mark. Could it be coincidence? I don't know, mark, if you're the son of Frank, let us know. He says Garth Brooks the Dance.
Tiffany Mason:Could have missed the dance.
Jay Franze:See, I'm getting disappointed. You're disappointing me. I would have read these all thinking they were true, but when you sing them I'm like, no, that's there. I know that for sure.
Tiffany Mason:Sorry, Jay.
Jay Franze:I'm losing faith tonight, mark. If you are son of Frank, I'm losing faith tonight, mark, if you are Son of Frank, I'm disappointed. Anthony Says Fade to black Metallica. Now you're a Metallica fan.
Tiffany Mason:I don't pay attention to the lyrics, I'm kind of busy.
Jay Franze:Oh, mercy, I don't pay attention to the lyrics. I'm kind of busy. Oh, mercy. Anthony also says Surfacing by Slipknot. Joe says Bohemian Rhapsody. Like I mentioned, it is on here several times. Your mother's still chiming in.
Tiffany Mason:Space Odyssey by.
Jay Franze:David Bowie.
Tiffany Mason:You know what I'm proud of her, because that's one that she like knows.
Jay Franze:Maya Project. Music says Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode.
Tiffany Mason:My uncle is a big fan of Depeche Mode.
Jay Franze:Turtle Rose Music. Turtle Rose Music says Gordy Sampson Hanging on by a wire.
Tiffany Mason:Okay, if you guys don't want us to argue with you, you have to put out more obscure songs. There you go.
Jay Franze:Grayson Turner says Back to Sleep. Oh, he says, but that's my song, alright Good. Alright, grayson, you want to come on and tell us a little bit more about it? Jfrenzycom.
Tiffany Mason:I'd love to hear it. The Girl 6132 I liked it better when girl 6132.
Jay Franze:I liked it better when you were using names. I know I tell you not to put your names in there, but it might be better for you. She says Unforgettable Fire by U2. No, this might be your husband, I don't know. But it says Prince Charming. 71 says Bohemian Rhapsody.
Tiffany Mason:Heck yeah.
Jay Franze:Grable. Paul G-R-A-B-L-E Grable.
Tiffany Mason:Grable.
Jay Franze:Grable, you're probably right, I don't know. Either way.
Tiffany Mason:Tomato tomato.
Jay Franze:Many of panic at the disco songs, so he's not even going to give us one.
Tiffany Mason:Many oh, I think that's actually true At the disco songs. I think that's true.
Jay Franze:Okay.
Tiffany Mason:But I will be honest, I don't like when they do that Because it makes trivia harder. Nice. I am a fan of the title being in the chorus, but this is a tough one, me too, just allude to the name of the song Also, because then when you're looking on an album you're like I want to play that one song. There's been actually a couple of Fleetwood Mac songs that I was like huh, I didn't realize that was the name of that song.
Jay Franze:Zachary says Superstar by the Carpenters.
Tiffany Mason:And that might be actually one of them, because I have that record. It's not Fleetwood Mac, but and Tarm.
Jay Franze:he was on here last week, oh thanks for coming back. He says Fade to black Metallica.
Tiffany Mason:Hmm, that must be true.
Jay Franze:Up my says Iris by the Google dolls.
Tiffany Mason:I think that's true. Good job.
Jay Franze:Moving on to the charts, you can be fired next week, okay, well, oh yeah.
Tiffany Mason:Oh yeah, we started the 10. We started the 10. God, I was excited about one. You can be fired next week, okay Well, oh yeah, oh yeah, we started at the 10. We started at the 10. God, I was excited about one. I'm so excited about one. Okay, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10. Okay, 10. I'm very excited about this one too. It is Scotty McCreary Bottle Rockets. Oh yeah, I was. Have you heard the song, but I did a review on it, hello.
Jay Franze:Yes, how can you not hear the song? It's on the radio at least once an hour. It's a great song, it's so good.
Tiffany Mason:It's such a great summer song. It's a little cheesy but it's really cutesy and I love it and I like Scotty McCreary so.
Jay Franze:Darius Rucker was at the festival and they were talking about you know. They were asking if he was going to actually play the original song and he said yes.
Tiffany Mason:Oh, that's very fun. Okay, mr Russell Dickerson, he has moved up to Happen to Me and it was not registering. But I was like, do I like this song or not? Yes, I do, because it references one of the 80s songs. You know, we've got the yeah anyways, this is another one, yes, yes. So anyways, I'm very excited about that.
Jay Franze:Okay, bailey zimmerman, that's my song and where is it? Where's it sit?
Tiffany Mason:ah, your favorite number, numero ocho. There you go. Number eight, bailey zimmerman backup plan. If you haven't checked it out, you should. It's a good song and I like the play on words.
Jay Franze:Okay, and it's from a young spitfire of a 25-year-old.
Tiffany Mason:Yeah, who was like? I'm going to make music I want to make or I'm letting this massive deal blow up. I'm going to go back to laying some pipe. Whoa, whoa.
Jay Franze:He's not even my type.
Tiffany Mason:Yikes, Okay, number seven. Luke Bryan with Country Song came on and he moved from number eight to number seven. That's exciting.
Jay Franze:I've said it enough, but I like him.
Tiffany Mason:I know You're a big fan. You got a big fan. You got a boy crush. All right, Number six Shaboosie with a little bit of good news. Really it's called good news. I like to embellish, Sorry, it's called good news. I should be reporting facts. And he went from number seven to number six. There's no fun in that. All right, Number five Nate Smith Fix what you Didn't Break. Such a cute song. But it slid from number four to number five. Kathy Want to fix what his wife broke.
Jay Franze:Just saying Let me know if you're still there, kathy.
Tiffany Mason:Mom, if you do, you have to go to Kentucky for it, so I don't know if you can get over that, I'll meet you in the middle, okay, how? Many fence posts? Would that be A lot, because you guys are both in the sticks. I'm around a lot of farms, all right. Number four Thomas Rhett. After all the bars are closed, he went from number six to number four, so he's climbing the charts. Mr Tyler Hubbard, he's staying steady with spot number three.
Jay Franze:She doesn't care much about you.
Tiffany Mason:We talked about it a lot the last time.
Jay Franze:I've got something in my eye, Sorry I know it's very distracting. Tyler Hubbard Park, number three.
Tiffany Mason:Park number three, numero tres.
Jay Franze:Park is my native people speak.
Tiffany Mason:In your Bostonian tongue.
Jay Franze:I saw a video the other day that said the most annoying accent in the country and it was crossing off states as it was going down and it got to Massachusetts and just circled Boston.
Tiffany Mason:Well, I was telling somebody that I like how you say A's and E's it must be all vowels. But I was like he's from Boston but he doesn't have like the strong Bostonian accent but the vowels have stayed, Like when you say Sarah and Eric, Sarah Every time you say Eric, yeah and Eric Church. Eric Church.
Jay Franze:So pretty vanilla that time I don't know what I'm saying wrong.
Tiffany Mason:You say Eric, it's almost like an A-E Eric.
Jay Franze:Eric Church. Eric Church.
Tiffany Mason:Yeah, well, when you're thinking about it.
Jay Franze:you say it more normal, Eric Church.
Tiffany Mason:Yeah, no, eric.
Jay Franze:Church, I don't know Eric Church, sarah, sarah with an A, sarah with an H.
Tiffany Mason:Okay, well, I want to talk about Morgan Wallen. Because my little South African lady, my Siri, has a South African accent and she always says, whatever the song, so in this case it's spot number two, just in case. But she'll say Now playing Just in Case, by Morgan Wolin, and I can't help myself. Every time I have to say it like three or four times after she says it. I'm becoming OCD about saying Morgan Wolin, after Siri, you're becoming one of those old women.
Jay Franze:This is what your future's going to hold.
Tiffany Mason:Yikes, okay, well, it stayed at spot number two. I think he was already at one, so I don't want to see it go back. He could, he could, but he's gonna have to beat out number one.
Jay Franze:Jay, where's the drum roll? You want a drum roll? I could do it. I could do it, I'm drumroll ready. Whenever you're ready, you just tell me when.
Tiffany Mason:Okay are you ready?
Jay Franze:No, go ahead.
Tiffany Mason:Okay, in position number one, sam Hunt with Country House. It's so exciting for this girl. We are just so off our rockers. I was very excited to see Mr Sam Hunt sitting there at spot number one. From number five to number one, I want to live in a country house. Nice, so good, so good, love it.
Jay Franze:I have nothing against it, but it's not my favorite on that list well, we know it's mine, so that's all that matters.
Tiffany Mason:I'm just gonna point out.
Jay Franze:I was gonna say, obviously I like number eight. Uh, backup planners yeah, but I like luke bryan there, but scotty mccreary's song is at number 10.
Tiffany Mason:I like that better debuting I know, it's debuting, so it means it's gonna climb even more it's getting more.
Jay Franze:Where's it been for the past several weeks?
Tiffany Mason:I don't know. It's a great question. I'm disappointed in people for not requesting it more all right yeah, and kind of like for the rest of the country, like that's kind of uh, that's the like summer song, but for the country, because kids are starting to go back to school like summer's over.
Jay Franze:So so it's just now appearing.
Tiffany Mason:Yeah, they didn't promote it Right. It should have been like bottle rocket right off after uh, may 30th or 31st however many days are in May, tiffany you're fired.
Jay Franze:Nothing but facts.
Tiffany Mason:I haven't heard Trump for a while. Good to hear his voice again, even if he is being mean to me.
Jay Franze:AI Trump for those listening. What is going on this week?
Tiffany Mason:I feel like it's ai trump for those listening what is going on this week. I feel like it's our news. Is it our?
Jay Franze:news.
Tiffany Mason:Tell me what our news is we oh, I almost said interrupted we interviewed chris uramus, urasmus, chris Erasmus, I don't think he's going to like the fact that you said Uranus. I did not say that you did too, chris Uranus.
Jay Franze:Why don't we start over. Start that one over.
Tiffany Mason:Well, because I feel like you're saying it Erasmus.
Jay Franze:That's correct. Erasmus, erasmus, well, urasmus, that's correct Urasmus, urasmus.
Tiffany Mason:Well, I, okay. Okay. So we interviewed Chris. It was a really good interview. He's in London, but he's got a South African accent. You guys. I would listen solely because of that. So if you need that encouragement, go check it out, just because he has a south african accent. Otherwise, check it out because he lives in london. He spent some time in montana, you guys. He grew up on a farm and he spent some time in australia, and him and jay have degrees from the same university. Like such a great interview from australia same institute in australia.
Jay Franze:Yeah university of queensland go UQ.
Tiffany Mason:Okay.
Jay Franze:Yes, and he also got a truck stuck in the mud in London.
Tiffany Mason:It's a rare thing to do and didn't even write a country song about it.
Jay Franze:Did not write a country song about it. No, what. It is a good episode. It will be out on Monday. If you would like to check it out, please do.
Tiffany Mason:It was a good interview too, because he's so multifaceted when it comes to his fitness, the sports that he's been in, or the athletic activities, and then his music, all the instruments that he plays Like growing up on a farm, this guy like like seriously, an hour wasn't enough. I mean I think we could have asked him yes.
Jay Franze:I think we could have asked him so many questions. That was his major at UQ. It was supposed to be business, but he was majoring in the decathlete, yeah. Well, earlier you mentioned Hailstorm.
Tiffany Mason:Heck yeah.
Jay Franze:Hailstorm is coming to town this weekend.
Tiffany Mason:Oh my gosh.
Jay Franze:I'm going to try my best to get out there and say hello to Miss Lizzie Hale, if I can.
Tiffany Mason:Yeah, I'd like to do so.
Jay Franze:You know, if only I had somebody to go with. It always happens. I'll probably just take one of my kids, take Lucy. Lucy likes to go to the shows.
Tiffany Mason:God, I love Lucy so much. She just had a birthday right. Happy birthday, lucy.
Jay Franze:That's a good point.
Tiffany Mason:She had a birthday this past week, today or yesterday.
Jay Franze:It was yesterday or two days ago, it was Monday it was past weekend.
Tiffany Mason:It was during the week the 11th.
Jay Franze:It was during the week the 11th, but we started on Friday, I think it was, of course. And what I don't understand is when did birthday parties for kids become weekly events? We had like four or five different parties each day. What?
Tiffany Mason:is up with that I mean on.
Jay Franze:Saturday they went out for pedicures, her and a group of friends. They went out for pedicures, her and a group of friends. Then, after pedicures, I met them all out for dinner, which was a different group of friends, some of the same but, a different group of friends. Yeah, Then after that we went to a golfing range. Yes, you know for whatever reason, 11-year-olds like to hit golf balls. Then after that they came to the house for cake ice cream and a sleepover.
Tiffany Mason:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jay Franze:Then they woke up and they went to the beach.
Tiffany Mason:Yeah, this all sounds normal.
Jay Franze:And then they came home and whatever they did after that, I don't know. I was no longer a part of it. I left at the beach.
Tiffany Mason:Right at that point you're like I'm paying for nothing more. So if you guys want to watch TikTok, if you guys want to go somewhere else, I paid for the more I just didn't participate in the more Trust me. No, it's not like I was going to get away from that. No, I love Hannah's friends All of them.
Jay Franze:They all have either Apple Pay on their watch or they've got.
Tiffany Mason:Isn't that what you were telling me about the other day? Stop, all of her friends are great, but everybody has money. So, like they'll be like Mom, can we go to Starbucks? I'm like, who has money? Does everybody have money? And they're all like, yeah, we'll pay, we'll pay. I'm like, okay, great, then you guys can go. You know, miss Tiffany, will you take us here?
Jay Franze:What happens when you're in the area with the yachts and the oh God time, though, and you know okay, you're just gonna make fun of me.
Tiffany Mason:They've got golf carts, so they can take your golf carts out so they can take themselves to the little town center where they have everything there, you know. And they're like, okay, we're gonna have panera for lunch and we're gonna hang out for a couple hours. Then we're gonna go to starbucks, we're hanging out for a couple more hours and we're gonna hit the grocery store and then we'll come home and it's like whoa, whoa, I don't get to go out that much, you don't get to go out that much.
Jay Franze:So sorry, friends absolutely go, go, oh, stop the bleeding makes the house quiet, oh my god, tell me about your time at the fair oh jay.
Tiffany Mason:Well, first of all, I flew into des moines and my niece picked me up and then what that? And then what?
Jay Franze:Who flies into Des Moines?
Tiffany Mason:There's nowhere else to fly into, jay, it's Iowa.
Jay Franze:But never has anybody ever spoken those words before?
Tiffany Mason:It was really cute because I am from Iowa and Hannah was like we're going to go to Des Moines and I was like don't ever say the S again. Don't ever say the S again. I'm like the s is silent. I am from iowa and if my daughter says the s I'm going to be very embarrassed. I'm like don't ever say the s again. Then I made a joke with her on the plane going to des mons and she was like I thought you don't say the s and I was like I mean, I'm doing a joke now that's all right.
Jay Franze:My kid says louisville or no she says says Louisville.
Tiffany Mason:Louisville, louisville, louisville, I've been told you have to try to swallow it, louisville.
Jay Franze:Louisville, you can swallow it.
Tiffany Mason:I am not swallowing it. No, thank you. Yes, so we had a great time in the teeny, teeny, tiny town of Centerville, iowa. We checked out an Amish general store. That was kind of fun. I don't know if you have ever seen Amish people, but it is a little bit of a spectacle for us. I don't know non-Amish people. What am I trying to think of Industrialized?
Jay Franze:We have a lot of the horse and buggies around.
Tiffany Mason:Oh sure, because Ohio yes.
Jay Franze:Ohio has a large population. Ohio has a large population.
Tiffany Mason:Pennsylvania has a large population yeah, yes, so that was kind of fun to see them out and their farms are always so pristine. But, honestly, like my heart just swelled with pride. I was just like, look at all these open fields and the all the corn and just the bean fields, and I don't know. I just had like some weird warm, fuzzy little heart just driving through all the openness and just the green countryside and I don't know. It was like I don't know it was a whole thing anyway. So there was that. And then the reason we went originally I wanted to go was to go see forest frank on thursday, but we changed our plans. I think I shared with y'all that we didn't know where we were going to go and we ended up at Megan Maroney and I was like, eh, I mean, we'll see. I don't know. And I'll tell you what. I am one of the biggest fans now and I don't like this, but I do like this.
Tiffany Mason:Somebody was like she's kind of like the new Taylor Swift and I was like, oh yes, with like the breakup songs and she was adorable, I mean, and her voice was way better in person. I mean it's fine on the radio, but you know, they all have kind of a similar sound to them, a lot of breakup songs. No, it was so awesome to be there and it was so awesome to hear all these young girls screaming. All the lyrics, I mean every single word, was so fun. I had these two girls behind me that were probably I don't know like 20 each or something and they knew every word, but they would make little side comments on all of the things and I don't know.
Tiffany Mason:It was great. It was great energy. And then it was so cool. The grandstand has this covering on just the people that are in the upper levels and there was a flag placed, like I don't know, every six feet or something on top and then there were two service members protecting everybody and it just felt so freaking cool Like I am a very patriotic person, so to see these men up there protecting us. And then my sister said she knew one of them and I was like, oh my gosh, it was just like next level for me, like the american flag was flying and we were out doing like an american thing and one of the most american places you know, good old-fashioned corn growing iowa just it was a whole experience, you can sell Iowa all you want.
Jay Franze:I don't think it's going to happen. Hello, kaden, I had a great time. Kaden agrees with you.
Tiffany Mason:I want to share that. I got this Iowa Hawkeye shirt. I'm pulling it out.
Jay Franze:For those listening, she's showing us her tatas.
Tiffany Mason:No, I'm showing you my Herky, my Iowa State shirt that I picked up. Oh, it was just so good. It was so good, it was so good to see my family, it was so good to have my memory refreshed how beautiful iowa is, and it was a great trip I know you were showing your tatas, but did you say hi to Kaden?
Tiffany Mason:hi Kaden. There you go, thank you you. You love Megan as well. She is even cuter in person If you get an opportunity to see her. She's so adorable. She's my spirit animal. She might be my spirit animal.
Jay Franze:She was very nice. She was very nice to Lucy. She let Lucy sing through her microphone and all that stuff.
Tiffany Mason:Wait, revisit the story. I don't remember things like this. What, what, what. She got to meet Megan Maroney.
Jay Franze:She did. Thanks to Jeff King arranged that one.
Tiffany Mason:Oh, my gosh. Again, I want to be your kid. How do I be Lucy?
Jay Franze:I just like the fact that you keep wanting to call me daddy.
Tiffany Mason:Oh, and she did play who's your Daddy, and it did bother me a little bit. Yeah, Anyway, yes.
Jay Franze:Megan Roni very nice, very cute, nice girl.
Tiffany Mason:She is adorable, she's beautiful. Her legs, oh my God, they're like all muscle and then it's hot in Iowa so they got like all shiny and I was like dang girl, she'll look good, she'll look good.
Jay Franze:Yes, she does. Yes, caden, tribute to Toby. We know who Tiffany's dad is.
Tiffany Mason:I've got all 18 wheels here girl oh yeah we should probably end this thing soon. I think you normally say are you ready to crash it, Are we?
